VAN WEZEL
PERFORMING ARTS HALL BOARD

The Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall Board was established
for the purposes of: (1) representing the community in relations
with the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall and to act as a liaison
between the community and the Hall; (2) to act as ambassadors
for the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall to governmental agencies,
patrons and the community at large in support of the activities
of the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall; (3) to ensure that
the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall's activities address the
needs of the community as a whole (4) to act as a liaison
between the community, governmental agencies and the staff
of the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall; (5) to maintain a continuing
relationship and open communications with the Van Wezel Foundation;
and (6) to actively experience the programs and performances
of the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall.
The duties of the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall Board are
as follows: (1) to maintain a visionary responsibility for
long-term strategic planning regarding the Van Wezel Performing
Arts Hall including operations and capital needs; (2) to help
promote the mission of the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall;
(3) to conduct an annual meeting to review the function and
purpose of the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall Board; (4) to
submit recommendations to the City Commission on critical
issues regarding the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall; (5) to
receive reports of the Executive Director of the Van Wezel
Performing Arts Hall regarding the operations of the Hall
and to advise on an as needed basis; (6) to advise on planning
for future capital needs for the Van Wezel Performing Arts
Hall; (7) to create and maintain a Van Wezel Performing Arts
Hall Board manual; (8) to orient and educate new members of
the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall Advisory Board during public
meetings; (9) to create and maintain a listing of member responsibilities
and functions to attach to Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall
Board applications; and (10) to be able to create task forces
or sub-committees necessary to perform the duties or purposes
of the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall Board.
The Board consists of 13 members who possess the technical,
professional, financial, business or administrative skills
necessary to accomplish the work of the Board, plus one lifetime
member appointed in recognition of special services to the
City in connection with the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall.
The Board meets on the second
Monday of each month at 4:00 P.M., at the Van Wezel Performing
Arts Hall.. The Board is assisted and supported by the staff
of the Van Wezel.
