The Communications Office produces many award winning original programs in conjunction with Access Sarasota, the government access television station. All programs educate the community about their local government. For more information on Access Sarasota programming, contact Miles Larsen or John Nopper.

All regular and special City Commission meetings and workshops are televised live on Access Sarasota, Comcast channel 19 and Verizon channels 32 and 34. The meetings also include closed captioning and are replayed. View.

Each month a City Commissioner hosts a talk show about current events. View.

This popular bi-monthly magazine-style program highlights interesting stories within the City of Sarasota you may not see on the mainstream media. View.

The Communications Office produces special video projects including the Mayor’s annual State of the City address. View.

For residents who miss a City of Sarasota event, such as a groundbreaking or a show at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, the Communications Office has its eye on Sarasota, posting unedited video on-line. View.

The Communications Office produces high quality 30 and 60 second public service announcements which are shown on commercial television stations. Important messages can be disseminated widely without a large price tag. A recent PSA which ran regularly on commercial TV stations saved the City more than $60,000 in advertising rate fees. View.

If you’re placed on hold when calling the City of Sarasota, you will hear a professional blend of music and informative tidbits about City Hall. All on hold messages are produced in-house by the Communications Office, making it convenient and cost effective to update messages regularly. Listen.
